Isaac Newton was born on the 25th of December, 1642, near Woolsthorpe Manor in Lincolnshire. He is arguably one of the most influential people to have ever lived; his discoveries changed the way we understand our world and universe.

Newton’s father died three months before he was born, leaving him with an inheritance that would allow him to be educated at Trinity College. Newton went on to study mathematics and natural philosophy (which later became known as physics). His work led to essential advancements in astronomy–such as the law of universal gravitation and laws for motion and impact–and optics, which he used based on theories from Euclid and René Descartes.

He is considered by many to have been one of the greatest scientists who ever lived. In addition, he was a highly influential mathematician and physicist whose work impacted mathematics, astronomy, physics, and optics.

In this blog post, we look at some famous quotes from Isaac Newton and implement them in different aspects of our lives.

1. “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants” – Isaac Newton

There are too many people to thank for all their work. No matter what stage in life or how far you’ve got, don’t forget about those who came before you.

2. “I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself, I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me” – Isaac Newton

If you’re someone who wants to excel or do well in life, try not to get caught up in the small stuff. Instead, look at the big picture, and you will be more productive.

3. “If I have seen further it is by standing on ye shoulders of Giants” – Isaac Newton

Don’t just learn from your own experiences and learn from others’ mistakes and successes.

4. “In the absence of any other proof, the thumb alone would convince me of God’s existence” – Isaac Newton

We know that we can’t depend on our own experiences as a basis for what is true. We need to rely on evidence and reasoning to make an informed decision about something. Evidence should be used in conjunction with our own experiences.

5. “Truth is ever to be found in the simplicity, and not in the multiplicity and confusion of things” – Isaac Newton

Don’t try to complicate something because it’s easier than simplifying it. But, on the other hand, if you want success, don’t overcomplicate things.

6. “If I have brought any new ideas to the world, it is because I saw them in rather a distinct form; and it seems to me that I can see them even more now” – Isaac Newton

Don’t be afraid of what others think. Don’t be discouraged if no one has ever thought like you before. Get your ideas out there and refine and improve them over time.

7. “Truth is ever to be found in simplicity, and not in the multiplicity and confusion of things” – Isaac Newton

Simplify your work and tasks, don’t try to make things more complicated than they need to be. If you want success, simplify!

8. “To myself I am only a child playing on the seashore, diverting myself now and then finding a smoother pebble or prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay undiscovered before me” – Isaac Newton

Don’t be discouraged if you’re still young and haven’t achieved everything you wanted to yet. It’s always good to have goals and focus on the future, but don’t forget to look back at your past work and learn from it.

9. “If I have done the public any service, it is due to my patient thought” – Isaac Newton

Never underestimate the power of hard work. Work hard for what you want in life, and eventually get there (especially if you are passionate about it).

10. If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants – Isaac Newton

Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. No one does everything on their own. Even the greatest minds in history needed help from others at some point or another. You can learn something new from anyone, so always be willing to learn from others.

11. “Truth is ever to be found in simplicity, and not in the multiplicity and confusion of things” – Isaac Newton

Don’t try to complicate something that doesn’t need any additional complications (if you want success). If it seems like there might be a simpler solution, then there probably is.

12. “I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself, I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me” – Isaac Newton

Don’t let other people’s judgement of you affect your self-worth or identity. You know who you are and what you’re capable of, so don’t ever let anyone else tell you otherwise.

13. “If I have been able to see further than others, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants” – Isaac Newton

Don’t be afraid to stand on the shoulders of giants. You can achieve more (especially if you’re passionate and hard-working) if you learn from those who have come before you and build upon their work.

14. “I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself, I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.” – Isaac Newton

Don’t be afraid to look back at the old work you’ve done; you might find something new or improve upon what you did before. You can also learn from looking back at old mistakes and try not to make them again in the future.

15. “Truth is ever to be found in simplicity, and not in the multiplicity and confusion of things” – Isaac Newton

Simplify your work and tasks (if you want success). If you make things too complicated, you’ll never get anywhere.

16. “To myself I am only a child playing on the seashore, diverting myself now and then finding a smoother pebble or prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay undiscovered before me.” – Isaac Newton

Don’t be afraid to play around and have fun. You can learn a lot from exploring and experimenting, even if you’re not always trying to get something done.
